Planar drivers typically come in two configurations: single-driver and push-pull. Ortho's development of the latter is the culmination of years of engineering expertise. While traditional planar drivers face significant technical challenges in miniaturization, Madoo's team of experienced engineers, through meticulous design, has successfully developed a compact and lightweight push-pull planar driver that perfectly fits within headphones while maintaining exceptional sound quality.
Retaining the TYP821's unique features
The TYP622's tuning fully unleashes the Ortho driver's performance potential, delivering highly expressive sound from delicate highs to powerful lows. The mid- and low-frequency performance has also been fine-tuned, resulting in a breathtakingly spacious soundstage and immersive feel, evoking a truly immersive live performance experience. The TYP622 retains the refined high-frequency resolution and vivid vocal performance celebrated by the TYP821, achieving an exceptional overall sound balance while enhancing the tonal characteristics of the mid- and low-frequency ranges.
High-Rigidity Housing Design
The TYP622 features an aluminum alloy housing, crafted by engineers expert in metalworking using high-precision multi-axis CNC machining. This achieves an excellent balance between rigidity and weight. Adhering to Madoo's design philosophy that "housing rigidity influences sound quality," the housing is constructed of a sufficiently thick material and sanded to enhance surface rigidity, ensuring uncompromising sound quality.
Optimized for Asian Ear Types
Madoo's product design and development are targeted at Asian ear types, with research and development focused on key headphone markets such as Japan, Hong Kong, China, and South Korea. Finally, the TYP622 was designed based on data collected from 300 Asian ear types over three years to achieve an exceptional fit and aesthetic. Its oval ear stem perfectly aligns with the typical oval shape of the ear canal, ensuring a natural and comfortable fit while minimizing sound loss and delivering authentic Madoo sound quality.
Sapphire Crystal Aesthetics
Adhering to the design philosophy of "earphones built for long-term use," the team adopted a heavy design style reminiscent of submarines and watch windows. The window is made of sapphire crystal, which has a Mohs hardness of 9 and is heat-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and extremely durable, far exceeding that of standard glass or plastic. The sapphire crystal window also regulates the back pressure of the driver during amplification, maximizing driver performance. The TYP622 features the octagonal design common to Madoo's second-generation product line, along with a color scheme that expresses "heavy sound quality."
Acoustune-Qualified Cable
The headphone cable included with the TYP622 is manufactured by Acoustune, a sister brand. It uses four-stranded copper with silver plating. The silver plating reduces sound quality loss, ensuring optimal headphone performance. The plug uses the high-quality, highly reliable Pentaconn Ear headphone plug designed and manufactured by NDICS of Japan. Compared to traditional MMCX connectors, this connector offers a tighter contact between the plug and the socket, improved conductivity, easier removal, and greater durability. (Equipped with two different plug cables: the "MRC011" 3.5mm 3-pole L-shaped gold-plated plug and the "MRC023" 4.4mm 5-pole L-shaped gold-plated plug.)
